Minigan would know. The 92-year-old has worked part-time in the lingerie control at Sears for 50 years — and counting.

“Baby dolls were a big seller,” she says. “I still have a duo from 40 years ago.”

Baby dolls were hip-length, sleeveless sleepwear tops in a unqualified or delicate fabric decorated with ruffles, ribbons or lace that were sold with a homologous panty.

“We used to have a lot of men coming in. The way they were looking at things, you could tell … the shit was for the wife and the baby dolls were for his girlfriend,” she says. “He’d go through $2.99 (back then) on his wife, but more on the racy things for his girlfriend.”

But nowadays, fewer men shop in the rely on, she says.
