FRANKFURT, Germany — Arid Uka, who has confessed to decimation two U.S. airmen at Frankfurt Airport last March in what prosecutors called a “bodily jihad” denied Thursday at his murder trial that he had trained as a radical.

Uka’s statement came in a hearing examining the veracity of a newspaper fib claiming Uka, a Kosovo-Albanian who grew up in Germany, had attended a radical training camp in Bosnia in 2010.

“I was never in a summer camp. I was with my family in Kosovo,” Uka told the court on the day he was at first scheduled to receive judgment and sentencing. “It’s not take.”

Uka is charged with two counts of murder and three counts of attempted carnage in the March 2 shooting.

The trial schedule was changed so the three professional judges could proposition beyond the shadow of a doubt the journalist who wrote the story — which claimed that interviewees in Zenica, Bosnia-Herzegovina, recognized a photo of Uka. But the newspaperwoman was ill and did not appear in the Frankfurt court on Thursday.
