Is there a way to turn pantyhose into thigh high stockings?

Question: I bought a yoke of lace pantyhose but when I put them on, they fit around my legs okay but they are not long enough. Is there any way to cut them off and do something scheming to them to turn them into thigh highs I can wear with a garter belt?
