Australian Retailers Association head Russell Zimmerman said style spending has been down over the past nine months and the wet weather had done little to help sales.
“Across whole of Australia unwell has been quite cool and we’re just not seeing the pick up of the clothing and footwear,” Mr Zimmerman said.

Mr Zimmerman said it made “intelligent sense” that casuals were having their hours cut.
