In respect to the Classics
by Caroline Foreman
Some items have the ability to transcend stretch.
Converse Chuck Taylors, Chanel 2.55 bags, Dr. Martens, trench coats, motorcycle jackets, Wellingtons (or “wellies”), Hermès’ Birkin bags, maryjane shoes and others are included in this elite grouping of timeless pieces.
They are able to penetrate each new generation. They have been successfully reinvented and integrated into cheerfully accessed consciousness and fresh wardrobes. Multiple generations sustain the items in their own time as acknowledgements of versatile and long-lasting designs.
Iconic items are recognized in segment and have traditional as well as nonconventional ways of being worn. The interesting part of the cyclic reinventions of the pieces is noting the variations in the stylistic portrayals. Mary janes can be on the run, worn with or without socks or hose, be the classic black color, have labyrinthine prints, or even sport high, chunky heels, as done by MiuMiu in 2010, for event. Timeless fashion pieces are frequent references for designer inspirations, and they survive as honorary springboards forward into the future of fashion innovation.
