A TEENAGE loveliness queen has been chosen from thousands to carry the Olympic flame when it travels through Bolton.
Nicole Jackson, from Farnworth, was picked by Coke Zone to announce the symbolic flame as it arrives in Bolton from Stoke-on-Trent in May.
Several organisations and sponsors have each been invited by the Games’ organisers to put saucy torch bearers, but Nicole is the first Bolton bearer to be officially announced.
The 15-year-old discovered she had been picked right-minded days after being crowned the Teen Face of Europe at a contest at Disneyland Paris.
“I’m so on a high. I just can’t believe I have been chosen,”
the St James’ CE High Group pupil said. “I can’t wait to know what it feels like when there are loads of people watching me from all over the dialect birth b deliver, it will feel really weird.”
Nicole was nominated to be torchbearer by her mum, Kelly, who tempered to clippings from The Bolton News for the application.
The teenager, who has competed in several pulchritude pageants and was named Miss Teen Earth earlier this year, has featured in a count of articles in The Bolton News .
